Founded in 1993, Coocacer Araguari is a member of the Cerrado Mineiro Region, operating in Araguari and Indianópolis municipalities. Its objective is to create coffee business opportunities for the sustainability of its members’. Its purpose is to build and develop sustainable relationships, promoting, supporting and valuing its producers, origin and product through collective thinking.
It has 220 members and works on intercooperation projects, women and young people in coffee production. Provides support and incentive services for quality, marketing, certifications and management advice, monitoring, on a daily basis, the environmental and social actions of cooperative members, with a view to ensuring the supply of sustainable coffees.
It has 20,000m² of warehouses and a complete structure for receiving coffee in all forms for personalized storage and traceability, both for cooperative members and outsourced producers. Its operational structure is located at a strategic point, close to BR 050, providing an excellent flow base for the Port of Santos leaving the Cerrado Mineiro.
Over the years, it has specialized in developing solid partnerships with exporters and industry, connecting them to its members with consistent offers of coffee prepared for export and shipments with a focus on traceability.
In 2023, the cooperative launched the Sustainable Coffee Project, which is one of the actions of IMAS – Instituto Mineiro do Agronegócio Sustentável, a non-governmental and non-profit organization, led by the cooperative and composed of other members who form an alliance through a solid foundation based on five axes: educational, environmental, social, economic and governance.
Created in 1993, the result of the sum of many entrepreneurial stories in a region of attitude, the Cerrado Coffee Growers Cooperative (Expocacer) has been innovating and transforming coffee growing in Cerrado Mineiro.
Considered a cutting-edge cooperative, Expocacer has been promoting initiatives that place it as the protagonist of a movement that every day promotes innovation, quality and sustainability in all its processes and also that of its members.
For three decades, it has been committed to inspiring changes and the progressive expansion of value in each decision, in order to generate a positive impact on coffee production, on the management model, moving the local economy and establishing connections that promote quality in the work routine of people, who are directly or indirectly linked to the cooperative.
Through regenerative ideas, transparent dialogues, real sustainability, collaboration, equity and positive impacts, Expocacer stands out on the local, regional and global coffee growing scene and it is our pride to be able to carry out and share this honor with everyone.
Valuing the Farms and the coffee of the cooperative member safely, this is the value proposition of the Cooperative of Coffee Growers of the Cerrado of Monte Carmelo (monteCCer) which, through the attitude of its members, contributes to strengthening the coffee production chain in the Cerrado.
With almost 30 years of history, monteCCer acts as an extension of more than 150 cooperative farms, providing services with high quality standards such as: batch-to-batch storage; re-benefit and preparation; quality laboratory; Educampo technical assistance; certification and coffee trading, seeking to guarantee, in a sustainable way, value and income for cooperative members and develop programs and actions that generate a positive impact beyond the cooperative.
Among these programs, we highlight “Viveiro de Attitude”, a Socio-environmental Program created in 2019, which aims to conserve, preserve and protect the natural resources of the Cerrado through the commercialization of seedlings of species native to this biome. It meets 11 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, impacting the lives of more than 50 thousand people. The financial result obtained is donated to institutions that care for children and the elderly in the city. All of this is possible thanks to partners such as Cafebras, Cofco, Coocacer Araguari, Expocacer, Illy, Louis Dreyfus Company, NKG Stockler, OFI, Sicoob Montecredi, Sucafina and Volcafé.
Another program under development is the “Coffee Water Producer” which, through public and private partnerships, enables the implementation of conservationist practices and management and improvement of vegetation cover, contributing to the reduction of erosion and sedimentation, and to the increase of infiltration of water in the soil, positively impacting producers and the population.
In this line of producing while caring for the environment, encouraging good planting and management practices, monteCCer is the first cooperative in the world to receive low carbon emission certification, from “Preferred by Nature”.
